revenue
Usage Note
Fatturato is the total sales revenue of a business over a given period — equivalent to British 'turnover' or American 'revenue'. It derives from fattura (invoice) + the past-participle suffix -ato used as a noun. Do not confuse it with profitto (profit) — fatturato is gross revenue before costs. The plural is i fatturati, though the word is often treated as uncountable.
Examples
"Il fatturato annuo è cresciuto del dieci per cento."
Natural Translation
Annual turnover grew by ten per cent.
