Elogio is masculine (l'elogio, gli elogi). The plural elogi drops the -i of -io, as is standard. Fare un elogio means 'to pay a compliment'; elogio funebre is a funeral eulogy. The related verb is elogiare (to praise). Do not confuse with elegia (elegy, a mournful poem).
