Ebanisteria refers both to the craft of fine furniture-making (la tradizione dell'ebanisteria italiana) and to the workshop where a ebanista works. It originally denoted work in ebony but now covers all fine woodwork. The plural is regular: le ebanisterie. Do not confuse with falegnameria, which is general carpentry.
