Usage Note
Diviso is the past participle of dividere used as an adjective: un paese diviso (a divided country), un'opinione divisa (a split opinion). Note the mathematical usage: dieci diviso due fa cinque (ten divided by two equals five) — the same word does double duty. It agrees in gender and number: divisa (f), divisi (m pl), divise (f pl). Do not confuse divisa (f noun) which means uniform/currency.
