Disciolto is the irregular past participle of sciogliere (to dissolve/untie) with the prefix di-. It can describe a substance melted in liquid (lo zucchero è disciolto), or formally a body that has been disbanded (il parlamento è stato disciolto). The feminine form is disciolta.
