Delegatario is a legal term for the person to whom a delegation or assignment is made — the party who receives the authority or obligation in a delegazione (delegation). It pairs with delegante (the person who delegates). This word belongs almost exclusively to civil-law and contract-law vocabulary; outside legal texts it is virtually unused.
