Usage Note
Cuoco is the masculine form; the feminine is cuoca. In professional kitchens the anglicism chef is also common, but cuoco/cuoca covers both home cooks and restaurant cooks. The plural is i cuochi / le cuoche (the -co/-chi pattern).
