Usage Note

Chimica refers to both the academic discipline and a natural 'chemistry' between people — c'è molta chimica tra loro ('there is a lot of chemistry between them'). The adjective is chimico (m) / chimica (f): reazione chimica = 'chemical reaction.' Note the stress falls on the first syllable: KI-mi-ca.
