Aumentato is the past participle of aumentare used as an adjective. In music, intervallo aumentato is the augmented interval (a semitone wider than major or perfect). In everyday Italian it commonly describes a raised salary (stipendio aumentato) or an increased quantity. As a predicate it pairs with essere: i prezzi sono aumentati (prices have gone up).
