arrivare
to arrive
verb ahr-ree-VAH-reh Common
Origin: Vulgar Latin *arripare (to reach shore), from ripa (bank, shore)
Also means
to reach
Usage Note
Arrivare takes essere as auxiliary, so the past participle agrees with the subject: sono arrivato (m), sono arrivata (f), siamo arrivati (m/pl). Arrivare a + infinitive means 'to manage to / get to the point of': non arrivo a capire (I can't manage to understand). Arrivare in is used with countries/regions; arrivare a with cities.
Examples

Natural Translation
The train arrived on time.
