Usage Note
Arrestato functions as a noun (the arrested person, the detainee) derived from the past participle of arrestare. The feminine form is arrestata. In legal reporting it often appears in headlines: tre arrestati ('three people arrested'). Do not confuse with fermato, which refers to a person held for questioning but not formally charged.
Examples
"L'arrestato è stato portato in questura."
Natural Translation
The arrested person was taken to the police station.
Literal Translation
The-arrested-person is been taken to police-station.
