Usage Note

Antifascista is invariable for gender — the same form is used for masculine and feminine (un partigiano antifascista, una brigata antifascista). It can also function as a noun (un/una antifascista — an anti-fascist). Plural: antifascisti (m/mixed), antifasciste (f). The word carries strong historical resonance in Italy, linked to the Resistance movement (la Resistenza) of 1943–45.
