Ammucchiato is the past participle of ammucchiare (to pile up, to heap) used as an adjective. It describes objects or people crammed together in a disorderly way: libri ammucchiati (books piled up), gente ammucchiata (people crowded together). The feminine is ammucchiata, the plural ammucchiati/ammucchiate.
