Usage Note

Alzato is the past participle of alzare (to raise/lift), used as an adjective. Essere alzato means to be up (out of bed) — sei già alzato? (are you already up?). Do not confuse with alto (tall/high), which describes permanent height. The feminine is alzata.

Examples

"Sono alzato da un'ora."

I have been up for an hour.

Literal Translation
