Usage Note

Allegramente is formed regularly from allegro (cheerful) + -mente. Like most Italian adverbs ending in -mente, it is invariable. It can describe both manner ('she sang cheerfully') and ironic understatement in colloquial use ('they spent all the money allegramente' = recklessly).
