veritiero
truthful, veracious
adjective veh-ree-TYEH-roh Less Common
Usage Note
Veritiero describes a person or account that tells the truth; it is slightly more formal than onesto ('honest'). A racconto veritiero is a truthful account, while veridico is a near-synonym used especially for facts or testimonies. Do not confuse veritiero with vero ('true') — vero describes a state of fact, while veritiero describes the intent or character of a speaker or narrative.
Examples
"Ha dato una testimonianza veritiera dei fatti."
Natural Translation
He gave a truthful account of the facts.
