Ultimatum is a loanword from Latin used identically to English. It is masculine in Italian: un ultimatum, l'ultimatum. Like most Latin and foreign loanwords ending in a consonant, its plural is invariable: gli ultimatum (not ultimatums or ultimata in standard Italian usage). It always implies a final, non-negotiable demand.
