superiore

superior

adjective soo-peh-ree-OH-reh Common

Origin: From Latin superior, comparativeof superus (above).

Also means

upper; higher

Usage Note

Superiore functions both as an adjective ('higher, superior') and as a noun meaning 'a superior, a boss' (il mio superiore = 'my superior'). Scuola superiore is the standard term for secondary/high school in Italy. It is already a comparative form (like inferiore), so adding più before it is redundant.

Examples

"Questo prodotto è di qualità superiore."

Natural Translation
