Spogliare can mean physically undressing someone (spogliare un bambino) or stripping something of its contents (spogliare un albero di frutti). The reflexive spogliarsi ('to undress oneself') uses essere. Do not confuse with spogliarsi in a theatrical context, where a spogliarello is a striptease.
