senior

senior

adjective SEE-nyor Rare

Origin: Borrowed from English/Latin senior (older, more experienced).

Usage Note

Senior is used in Italian exactly as in English for professional or age-related seniority: direttore senior, atleta senior. It is invariable — it does not change form for gender or number. The opposite is junior, equally borrowed and equally invariable.
