Usage Note
Sciare is the infinitive 'to ski'; sc before i is always pronounced 'sh' in Italian. The gerund is sciando and the noun skier is sciatore (m) / sciatrice (f). It takes avere as auxiliary (ho sciato tutta la settimana). Not to be confused with scivolare (to slide/slip).
