Scatenato is the past participle of scatenare ('to unleash') used as an adjective, describing someone or something that is wildly energetic or out of control: una festa scatenata ('a wild party'), un bambino scatenato ('a wild, hyperactive child'). It can be used approvingly (full of energy) or disapprovingly (unruly). The feminine form is scatenata.
