rue (herb)

Origin: Latin ruta, from Greek rhytē.

Usage Note

Rue (Ruta graveolens) is an aromatic bitter herb used in Italian folk medicine and cooking; the standard name is more often ruta. Do not confuse it with the French borrowing rue (street), which is not standard Italian.
