Regno refers to a kingdom (il Regno Unito — the United Kingdom) or figuratively to a domain or sphere (il regno della fantasia — the realm of imagination). The biological 'kingdom' (e.g. regno animale) also uses this word. Plural: regni. Do not confuse with regione (region) or reame (realm, a less common synonym).
