Reclutare is used for recruiting employees, military personnel, volunteers, and athletes. It follows the regular first-conjugation (-are) pattern. The related noun is reclutamento ('recruitment'). In military contexts arruolare is also common; in civilian hiring, assumere ('to hire') is more frequent for the actual employment act, while reclutare covers the search and selection phase.
