Usage Note

Raccordo is most commonly heard in raccordo anulare, the ring road (motorway) circling a city such as Rome — the GRA (Grande Raccordo Anulare). It also describes any mechanical or plumbing connector joining two sections. Do not confuse with accordo (agreement), which lacks the prefix rac-.
