Usage Note

Premier is an invariable loanword from French widely used in Italian journalism and politics as a shorter, more informal alternative to Presidente del Consiglio. It does not inflect for gender or number. The official Italian title is Presidente del Consiglio dei Ministri. Plural is also premier.
