Usage Note
Prefiggere is almost always used reflexively as prefiggersi — 'to set oneself a goal or target'. The construction is prefiggersi uno scopo (to set oneself a purpose) or prefiggersi di + infinitive (to resolve to do something). It belongs to the third conjugation (-ere) and forms its past participle as prefisso.
Examples
"Mi sono prefissato un obiettivo difficile."
