Usage Note

Pigro describes habitual laziness or sluggishness — a persona pigra is a lazy person. It agrees in gender and number: pigro, pigra, pigri, pigre. The derived noun is pigrizia (laziness) and the adverb is pigramente. A common idiom is fare il pigro ('to play lazy', i.e. to lounge around doing nothing on purpose).
