Usage Note
Messicano functions as both a noun (un messicano — a Mexican person) and an adjective (cibo messicano — Mexican food). The feminine is messicana. As with all Italian nationality words, it is written in lowercase unless at the beginning of a sentence — a common error for English speakers who always capitalize nationalities.
Examples
"Il ristorante serve cibo messicano."
Natural Translation
The restaurant serves Mexican food.
