Usage Note
Lunga is the feminine singular form of lungo (long). Learners should treat lungo/lunga/lunghi/lunghe as a set. In time expressions it becomes adverbial: per lungo tempo (for a long time), alla lunga (in the long run). The idiom a lungo andare also means 'eventually'. Do not confuse lungo (long/along) with lungi (far from), which is literary and rare.
