Limone is masculine (il limone, plural i limoni). In Italian the tree is also called il limone (or il limoneto for a lemon grove). Limone also slang for a long kiss in some regional varieties, though this usage is informal and regional. The adjective for lemon-flavoured is al limone (invariable).
