Usage Note
Intercorrere always takes essere as its auxiliary and is used almost exclusively in the third person (intercorre, intercorrono). It describes time elapsing between two points (tra i due eventi intercorrono tre anni) or a relationship existing between things (intercorre un legame tra loro).
