Usage Note
Influire is an -isc- verb (like finire): the present tense inserts -isc- in stressed positions (influisce, not influie). It takes avere and is followed by su (influire su qualcosa — to influence/affect something). It is more formal than influenzare; both are correct, but influenzare is more colloquial.
