Usage Note

Indegnità refers to the state of being unworthy or the quality of an act that is beneath one's dignity. In Italian inheritance law it is a technical term: indegnità a succedere means legal unworthiness to inherit. Like all nouns in -tà, it is invariable in the plural: le indegnità. The related adjective is indegno.
