Usage Note

Incontrastato means meeting no opposition or challenge — il vincitore incontrastato is the undisputed winner. It agrees in gender and number: incontrastata, incontrastati, incontastate. It is often used in sports and political commentary. Do not confuse with incontrovertibile (irrefutable), which applies to arguments rather than victories or dominance.
