inadatto

unsuitable

adjective ee-nah-DAHT-toh Rare

Also means

unfit

Usage Note

Inadatto means not suited for a purpose or role: inadatto al lavoro, 'unfit for the job'. It agrees in gender and number: inadatta (f), inadatti (m pl), inadatte (f pl). The opposite is adatto (suitable, fit). Do not confuse with inadeguato (inadequate), which stresses insufficient quality rather than incompatibility.

Examples

"Quel film è inadatto ai bambini."

Natural Translation

That film is unsuitable for children.
