Usage Note
Importato is the past participle of importare used as an adjective to describe goods, ideas, or customs brought in from abroad: prodotto importato (imported product), moda importata (imported fashion). It agrees in gender and number: importata (f sg), importati (m pl). Do not confuse the adjective with the impersonal verb importare meaning 'to matter' (non mi importa = I don't care).
