Giacimento refers to a natural underground deposit of minerals, oil, or gas: giacimento petrolifero (oil field), giacimento di carbone (coal seam). It is always masculine. Do not confuse with giacitura (position, inclination of strata) or giaciglio (a makeshift bed).
