Galeone denotes the large, multi-decked sailing warship used by European powers from the 15th to 18th centuries — the classic pirate-era ship. The plural is galeoni. Do not confuse with galea (a smaller oared galley) or galeotto (a galley slave, or colloquially a rogue).
