Filiale in business Italian refers to a branch office or subsidiary of a larger company (la filiale di Milano = 'the Milan branch'). The word is feminine as a noun (la filiale) though the adjective filiale (filial) is gender-neutral. Do not confuse with figlia ('daughter') even though they share a root.
