Also means
fierce
Usage Note
Fiero primarily means 'proud' in modern Italian (sono fiero di te = I am proud of you), but it retains an older sense of 'fierce' or 'bold' in literary and historical contexts. Do not confuse with English 'fierce' — in everyday Italian fiero is almost always positive. The feminine form is fiera; note la Fiera also means 'the Fair/Expo'.
Examples
"Sono fiero del lavoro che ho fatto."
Natural Translation
I am proud of the work I did.
