Usage Note
Evasione has two primary senses: a physical escape (evasione dal carcere = prison break) and fiscal/legal avoidance (evasione fiscale = tax evasion). The second sense is extremely common in Italian public discourse. It also carries a literary sense of escapism: letteratura d'evasione (escapist fiction). Do not confuse with invasione (invasion).
