etico
ethical
adjective EH-tee-koh Rare
Origin: Greek ēthikos, from ēthos (character, custom).
Also means
moral
Usage Note
Etico agrees in gender and number: etica, etici, etiche. It is used in both philosophy (filosofia etica) and everyday contexts (una scelta etica = an ethical choice). Note that l'etica (noun, feminine) means 'ethics' as a field of study. The irregular feminine plural etiche (not etici) is a common learner error because adjectives ending in -co follow the -chi/-che pattern.
Examples
"Dobbiamo prendere una decisione etica."
Natural Translation
We need to make an ethical decision.
