Usage Note

Elettricista is an epicene noun: it uses the same form for men and women, with gender signalled only by the article — il/l'elettricista (m), la/l'elettricista (f). The plural is gli elettricisti (m/mixed) and le elettriciste (f). This -ista pattern (also giornalista, pianista) is a common trap for learners who expect a masculine -o ending.
