Usage Note
Ecologia is feminine (l'ecologia). In Italian it is used both in the strict scientific sense (the study of ecosystems) and loosely as a synonym for environmental awareness (fare ecologia = to be eco-friendly). The adjective is ecologico (prodotto ecologico = eco-friendly product).
