Usage Note

Durevole describes things built to last — materials, relationships, solutions. It is used in both concrete (materiale durevole = durable material) and abstract (pace durevole = lasting peace) senses. The adverb is durevolmente. Do not confuse with duro (hard/tough), which relates to physical hardness rather than longevity.
