Derby is an invariable loanword in Italian — the plural is the same: i derby. In Italian sports culture it most commonly refers to a local football rivalry, as in il derby della Madonnina (AC Milan vs Inter). It is masculine. It also retains the sense of a horse race (as in the English original).
