Coerente describes logical consistency or alignment between actions and principles: una posizione coerente (a consistent position), comportarsi in modo coerente (to act consistently). It has two forms: coerente (m/f sg), coerenti (m/f pl). The noun form is coerenza (f). Do not confuse with aderente (adherent, fitting), which is unrelated.
