autenticità

authenticity

noun ow-ten-tee-chee-TAH Rare

Usage Note

Autenticità ends in and is therefore invariable in the plural (like città, libertà). It never takes a written accent change in the plural. The adjective is autentico and the adverb is autenticamente. In legal Italian, autenticità di un documento means the certified genuineness of a document. In everyday speech it often carries a positive connotation of being 'real' or unpretentious.
